Risk of Consumer Loss
Until now the demand for the Company products was not
too high at the Ukrainian market. Ukrainian airlines do not
have enough funds for financing of of building of new
aircrafts and modernization (remotorization) of old ones,
therefore MOTOR SICH JSC has to cooperate with Russia
and non-CIS countries more than over.
Thanks to state financing of special aircraft building
programmes in the Russian Federation VJTJR SICH JSC
products are in demand most of all in this region. In
conditions of serious competition with Russian aircraft
repair plants, there is a high risk of partial consumer loss
due to intention of Russian airlines to carry out aviation
engine overhaul and technical maintenance at their
domestic facilities.
Nowadays, the main Russian aircraft repair plants are in
Rostov-on-Don, Aramil, Yeysk, Kaliningrad, Staraya
Russa, Omsk, Khabarovsk.
For provision of stable work and increase of profits, the
Company pursues consistent diversification of sales
markets of the Company main products – aircraft
engines, optimizes marketing policy, as well as conducts
researches on manufacture of new products, particularly
construction of upgraded TV3-117VMA-SBM1 turbopop
(turboshaft) engine, MS-500 turbo-shaft engine and AI-
450MS auxiliary power unit.
Complex competitive environment
In conditions of world competition at the aircraft engine
building foreign market, Motor Sich JSC has to compete
with such big companies as General Electriс (USA),
Prat&Whitney (Canada), Snecma/Turbomeca (France),
BMW Rolls-Royce (Germany/England), that meet with
significant government financial and legal support for
both researches, and improvement, development and
introduction of new of products at the market.
To keep up the desired level of competitiveness, aircraft
engine companies bear significant financial expenditures
for creation of the system of engine aftersales service,
continuing airworthiness during all life cycle, as well as
provide various financial services (leasing, insurance).
To hold its positions, keep clients, as well as work up new
markets, the Company is in need of significant financial
investments in scientific and research developments, as
well as introduction of new achievements of science and
technology, which allow increasing product quality,
reducing of energy consumption and labor coefficient,
and as a consequence decreasing of finished products
prime cost. This approach will allow providing creation of
new mass produced aircraft engines, which will meet
both world standards and constantly growing consumer
requirements. Priority directions of scientific researches
are reduction of noise level and harmful substances
emissions, increase of efficiency, improvement of
reliability, reduction in value of engine life cycle. In this
case, the Company particularly needs support of the
government, which should stimulate aviation industry and
define its development as the most priority. For the most
effective implementation of above mentioned areas it is
necessary to carry out some investment support
measures, both of the government, and private investors.
One of the priority directions of foreign trade activity,
which is connected with warranty and post-warranty
service of VOTOR SICH JSC products, is the creation of
service maintenance network, approximated to the
regions where its products are in demand most of all.
